We make our ranch available to guest so that they can arrange to spend either a weekend or their entire vacation on an authentic Texas Ranch in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country. This is a great opportunity for a family or for several families, a wedding, a reunion, a group of friends or for a business retreat to stay at our ranch and enjoy the great atmosphere. Many of the ranch activities are free and there are few better ways to spend a few days than enjoying our relaxing rural environment.

Lodge & Guest Activities
Our lodge has two kitchens and sleeps 16+ guests. It is surrounded by Live Oaks and has a swimming pool, tree swing, and hammock, three granite topped picnic tables made from wine barrels, and a great barbecue pit. Gather around the Family Fire Pit and make s' mores, marshmallows, or hot dogs and tell stories. Swim in our pool, barbecue under the Pavilion, climb Enchanted Rock and then watch the rock climbers 'scale the sheer cliffs'. Take in the July 4th parade in Fredericksburg, eat Texas barbecue at Cooper's in Llano and enjoy the 'best of Texas' that one finds in the Hill Country.

The lodge has a delightful selection of indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family. Nothing can beat a nice relaxing day under the Live Oaks. Dad can barbecue ribs and brisket. We know you need to keep the kids out of your hair -- well, they can wile away the hours swimming, playing washers, horseshoes, darts, or bocce while you read a book and relax in the hammock. All you have to do is settle the disputes, run back and forth answering the incessant requests for aid from the cook, and don't forget to set the picnic table.

As the evening approaches, the timer on the deer feeder by the lodge goes off. If everyone can be a little bit quieter you will soon see a mixture of Whitetail bucks and does as well as an occasional exotic, plus innumerable squirrels heading for this miraculous outflowing of corn. With a bit of forethought and organization the BBQ will be ready, the picnic tables set, and the family can eat while they enjoy the scene unfolding around the deer feeder. You forgot the beer and cokes -- well, don't worry they're close at hand in the Mexican beer cooler. Sit back and relax, listen to the wind in the oaks, the cooing of the doves, enjoy the wildflowers, and take the opportunity to get away from the city and enjoy all that we had to give up for city life.

After dinner turn on the outdoor lighting, light the fire circle, and gather the family for a few songs, ghost stories, or simply to tell old hunting lies. Later there is always time for a good game of pool, or to watch a movie on Satellite T.V.-- but don't stay up too late because there is so much more to do and see tomorrow and the mornings are simply too nice to miss. Maybe "they" can all go climb Enchanted Rock and you can relax over coffee.

The list of activities at our Hill Country ranch is only limited by one's imagination. The freshness of the air, the trees, and the wildflowers, combined with the good old American tradition of a country barbecue and a family picnic -- well, we could go on and on but you have to see it to understand.

You just tell us how long you want to stay and give us an idea of what you would like to do and we will arrange it. Most ranch activities are free (see below) and if you would like to mix these with some activities that carry a cost we will help you work out a program that fits the family budget. Be assured that our Lodge has enough T.V. sets and VCR's to keep your kids from going into cultural shock. Lodge cost is $150/night for a family of four and a $75/night/person for other family members. The entire lodge can be rented for your group for $800/night.

The Lodge has a pool table, darts, washers, horseshoes, bocce ball, swimming, a poker table, and of course outdoor tables set under large oaks that are ideal for picnicking. Naturally in Texas one should not forget a great barbecue pit.
