The Old Family Store sets above Lobo Creek and certainly has
a great porch from which to enjoy the view. It has almost
a movie set ambiance of an old store from the turn of the
century. It contains two single beds that are reached by a
ladder and are used for our ranch hunting guides and occasional
real macho, well-coordinated hunters. Don't let it be said
that we oversold the accommodations of the "old family
store". Is is true that it has a shower --- of sorts,
air conditioning and electrical heat, hot and cold running
water, a nice wood burning stove, and even a washer and dryer
to do your dirty clothes but the 'toilet facilities' are across
the road and consist of an outhouse --- well, a nicely decorated
and colorful outhouse, but an outhouse.
Sullivan Family Store --- Housing for "real men",
walk in cooler, and storage for some of the various
of items needed for ranch life. We routinely use the
Family Store for lodging for teenagers, hunting guides,
and macho men since although it has a shower, air
conditioning, washer/dryer, great old wood burning
stove, and two loft beds it is 'true to our Texas
traditions' and has an out house fully equipped with
current magazines. |
The old porch is a great place to sit back and watch
the sunset as the windmill turns and deer and antelope
amble by on their way to the nearest food plot. |
